I am a cognitive systems engineer specializing in designing complex sociotechnical systems for high risk, dynamic and uncertain environments. My research focuses on developing human-machine interfaces to support human-machine teaming, human-autonomy collaboration, and human-robot interaction.
My research interests lie at the intersection of autonomous systems engineering and interaction design. My perspective is informed by 18+ years of active duty service in the US Navy, including extensive operational sea service; deployments in front line combat units as an FMF Corpsman, and living in austere environments for extended periods of time.
